Volunteer Spotlight

McIntosh Club

Children’s Literature for Children has a branch at McIntosh High School, directed by students Sophie and Kate Hollowell, with Ms. Bowles as a faculty sponsor. They collect and process gently-used children’s books for elementary schools on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Last year, the students processed books with pockets and cards, so books were ready to be checked out as soon as they arrived at Rosebud Elementary School.

CLC in Scotland

Our volunteers in Scotland, led by Moira Small, raised funds to build a brand new library at King’ong’o Primary School in Kenya. Moira and her volunteers held book drives, bake sales, and movie nights to raise additional funds to fill the shelves of the new Small Family Library with beautiful books shipped all the way from Scotland!
